HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIE!
Now a lot of you know Danie as the big chief of the Community Relations team, but I doubt half of you truly know how much of a hard worker Danie is. Not only does she have to look after us lively lot (and by “lot” have you seen how big the CV team is?!), but she works on copious behind the scenes projects on deviantART, making this place just a little bit more devious and better for all us Artists out there in the big dA community. Not only this, but she has to have a life at the same time!
Now we have decided to use Danie’s birthday for three things:
1. To wish her a very happy birthday (of course)

Odyssey, Clive and PETAFor those just tuning in, I have the privilege of working very closely with the Odyssey II Project with Clive Barker and I couldn't be more excited. The following is my personal opinion on the project, Clive and PETA, so I encourage you to direct any conversation regarding what you read here, to the comments below, so I can respond

First, I'm a huge fan of Clive Barker's work. His artwork and his stories have entranced me for years but beyond that, he's truly a deviant. *CliveBarker has become an active member of the community, submitting his artwork and commenting on others. He's a perfect fit in my opinion, but that's not entirely why I'm writing today.
Clive's initial choice for a cause to donate the proceeds of this project to, is PETA and if you've been watching the #ODYSSEYPROJECT unfold, you've certainly seen several opinions in regards to the organization.

Daily Deviations: Behind the MagicHello all,
some of you may already be aware that a group of us CVs have gotten together and are planing a Daily Deviation #projecteducate week in mid August. The thought was that there is often so much negativity surrounding DDs and we'd like to help educate the community as best as we can to help settle some of the hurt feelings etc. This is where we need your input!

This is your chance to have your voice heard. We want to know what it is that you want us to talk about during DD PE week. What do you want to know in regards to DDs? What do you feel the community will benefit from knowing about? Any and all input is welcome, the more the merrier!

PE Note to Daily DeviationHello all,
In this section of Daily Deviations (DD) PE week I wanted to write about how your suggestions are processed and then turned into DDs, but with a bit more of a focus on the process of how we Community Volunteers (CVs) utilize the note system. I felt it was a place where some common problems arise which may not be talked about all too often resulting in confusion and frustration for both suggesters and CVs.
The Note System
I think many are aware of this but just for the sake of being clear, CVs use the same exact note system as every other user on the site. We do not have any special bells and whistles to organize our notes other than the same tools you all are also given. There is no special tool or program that sorts or does anything special with our DD suggestions for us, it is entirely up to us, how we choose to sort them in our note system.

There are a few things to be said about them, but instead of writing a big ass entry you won't read anyway, I decided to write a mini series of journals regarding some of these points, giving you some tips, some opinions and hopefully igniting some healthy discussion. Sounds like fun?
So, the first item on the agenda: my stance on them.
Everybody has their own perception of what a Daily Deviation is. I know FAQ 61 tells us the official definition of what a daily deviation is; "A feature chosen by a group of volunteers or staff members." A FEATURE, that's it! That's what a daily deviation is right? Yes. But I also understand that they're not just your everyday features. PE DDs: When It's Not Always PositiveWhen DDs Go Awry
Daily Deviations, or “DDs,” are frequently held in very high esteem on deviantART. After all, what artist does not want his or her work displayed for more than 20 million viewers to see and admire? The benefits of receiving a DD feature include increased exposure for your work and a day in the spotlight for you as an artist. Many people therefore view DDs as badges of honor, awards that make them proud and validate the time they spend in our community.
Be careful what you wish for!
Don’t get us wrong-- DDs are wonderful for the purposes listed above. But, they can also bring a lot of drama upon the artist, especially if they are controversial.
Let’s talk about some of the sources of this drama.

The Help Desk team myself $ewm, $Ikue, and $Thunderstatement have been super busy making sure that all of your General Inquiries and Bug Reports get handled as soon as possible. Our current initial response time is no more than 48 hours this week! We are super pleased to announce that we’ve been doing a lot more than handling tickets lately. We are doing some serious business FAQ Revamping to make sure all FAQs are completely up to date and easy to understand. We are also merging similar FAQs to reduce redundancy to keep the overall FAQ amounts low to ensure it’s easier to find the information you are looking for.
We started the FAQ Revamp last week and we’ve already covered a little over 100 FAQs!! The following FAQ sections are ones we have already tackled or are currently in the process of tackling.

DeviantART 12th B'day Celebration

Dear Friends,

Today we celebrated DA 12th birthday with an artistic way. We first time planned a group painting with the use of Mixed Media like Poster / Crayon and Sketch Colors and we would like to say special thanks to

who guided us and monitored our each stroke in her presence.

This group painting taken 6hours and we did simply fun and only fun.
